"Weigand wants to take this opportunity to thank you for being a dedicated member of our team. We value the expertise you bring to our projects and know how important you are to the success of those projects.

In closing out our financials for the 2010 year, we did an audit on the subcontractors and vendors that have done the most business with us on a billing basis. You were among the top three in Division 5. We wanted to congratulate you and acknowledge the fact that this is quite an accomplishment given the competitive environment we work in."

Best wishes for a prosperous 2011!

University of Notre Dame

Art Iron of Elkhart, Indiana recently completed a complicated structural steel roof structure for a Gothic style building at the University of Notre Dame as a subcontractor to Pepper Construction Company.  Art Iron fabricated the steel on time and erected the steel on time using a second-tier subcontractor.  Art Iron was a good subcontractor to work with and I would recommend them for future work.

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center

Structural steel was a big element, with a crucial milestone on the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Project. Art Iron was the successful bidder, and from the day of award, they never lost focus in fabricating and erecting 5,000 tons of steel.

Though some design components were not yet complete, erection started on time. Day after day it continued, as a steady stream of trucks fed steel and deck to the erector. Both the owner and engineer-of-record were (and still are) amazed how the building frame grew from nothing to finality in 4 months.

Art Iron, under the direction of project manager Paul Keller, was responsible for our team achieving an aggressive schedule on this (phased construction) project. As a result of those efforts, Art Iron was awarded the Miscellaneous Steel Package for the project and continues to satisfy. I strongly recommend this team to anyone looking for a successful project.

Saline High School

Granger Construction would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your positive contribution to the Saline High School project. The Granger team appreciates your commitment to the project with regards to quality, schedule obligations, and problem solving.

We are especially appreciative of your efforts in addressing quality issues as they arose. You also handled owner requests, schedule adjustments and completion of your work professionally and efficiently.

We would like to specifically note our appreciation for Joe Stec. Joe was always responsive to project needs and followed through to completion. Joe also made sure that if the schedule demanded, Art Iron would perform.

Again, thank you for making this a successful project. We look forward to working with your company again on future projects.

Four Winds Casino and Hotel

We would give Art Iron our highest recommendation based upon a current project that we have contracted with them in New Buffalo, Michigan. We negotiated a $7.3 million structural steel contract with them for a new casino. The erection of the structural steel on this project was the most critical activity on the early end of our schedule and Art Iron jumped into the project with us head first. They prepared a mill order for us in March. Fabrication began in April and we were erecting steel in early July. The ability of Art Iron to coordinate the detailing and fabrication of the steel and also the joist and deck suppliers for the project per the original construction schedule has enabled our project team to enclose the building for winter. In addition, there have been minimal changes required with their contract amount. These factors regarding cost and schedule continues to reinforce our decision to award this project to them on a negotiated basis.

Art Iron has also performed other projects with us recently in Southeast Michigan and also on the Administration Building at Notre Dame University in 1997. They continue to demonstrate their expertise with steel fabrication to the Christman Company and we will continue to solicit proposals from them on lump sum or negotiated basis for steel products on any type of project.

John R. Spears, Manager of Bid Process and Systems Christman

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say what a pleasure it has been working with your organization on the Four Winds Casino and Hotel project. Thanks to the efforts and dedication of your team, we were able to deliver an absolutely breathtaking product, on-time and under budget.

We appreciate your trust in buying into the initial plan we crafted, and we are grateful for the contributions and expertise that you provided along the way. We certainly recognize the sacrifices made by all of the trades to guarantee our success, but I would be remiss if I did not specifically acknowledge the leadership efforts of Paul Keller, who demonstrated masterful management of numerous contracts and phases throughout the project.

I also need to express my gratitude for his diligence in working with us to manage the ongoing changes that were encountered throughout the project. Keeping the crews informed about the potential and required changes was essential to maintaining our progress and efficiency.

I am proud of our efforts and I hope the experience was as rewarding for you. I look forward to working with you again in the near future.

Thanks for making this such a success.
